Selection Series

(Selection, Elite, One)

Author: Kiera Cass

Rating: 1

My Opinion:

These are very popular books for teenage girls. This was my second time reading them and was surprised about how much I liked these books. They are well written, but the content is not appropriate for all ages. These books are set up like the show “the bachelor”, but a futuristic version. So, there is bound to be some steamy stuff inside.

WARNINGS:

These books are notorious for their hot and steamy make out sessions. They never go far enough to have sex, but there are some pretty close moments. The language for the most part is clean but the author uses d...., b..th.s, and a few other choice words. There is violence with the rebels killing people, mainly the palace guards. The selection girls get in fights sometimes also.

Synopsis:

The main character, America Singer, is content with her life. She has a job that she loves, enough food to not go hungry (most of the time), and a boy who loves her. However, her parents have no clue she has a boyfriend. The two plan to marry as soon as they have enough money to start a life together, although, when the selection for Prince Maxon is announced Aspen, her previous lover, tells America to put her name in. When her name is called America is forced to compete for a man she does not love. Or does she? Walk with America as she tries to determine which boy holds her heart.
