My Opinion
The Fault In Our Stars is a book that almost everyone knows, if not for the book, but because of the top-rated movie. It is a heartbreaking tale of two kids with cancer struggling to find meaning in a life that could be cut short. I have always wanted to read this book, but I have to confess it has sat on my shelf for a long time. It is not a feel-good type of book but serves as a reminder to live every day with purpose. After watching the movie first and reading the book second, it was nice to be able to get more background on the characters and create my own imaginary world for them to live in.
Synopsis
Hazel is an average teen despite her long fight with terminal cancer, leaving her with little opportunity to be a socializing teen. This is until she meets the one and only Augustus Waters. Augustus helps to teach Hazel the joys of life and achieve her biggest dreams!
WARNING
John Green is a wonderful writer but uses a lot of language in his books. There is also a chapter where Hazel and Augustus have sex, and there are a lot of mentions of death.
