I fell in love with this book and the characters because of the author's skill using imagery. When the author can describe their universe and allow the reader to see it come alive in their mind - you know that they are talented. From the beginning, you feel as if you are a fly on the wall, watching as the events unfold. I had never read anything by this author before, but I am ready for another! The story included romance, mystery, and a whole lot of adventure.
Synopsis
Tressa Harlowe is the heiress to her father’s vast fortune that no one has ever seen. After she and her mother are called home early from overseas, they return to find out Harlowe has died suddenly. The only thing he left is a castle and a vineyard that needs to be run but no money to run. To make matters worse, Trevelyan Castle has attracted fortune hunters - even their own flesh and blood. Will they find the treasure and be able to pay their laborers, or will Tressa get kicked out of the only home she has ever known?
WARNING
While I loved this book, there are a few things I would give warning too. With every great mystery, there is always an antagonist that wants to destroy the protagonist. This said, Tressa, runs into her father’s enemy, and is almost killed after a boat crash. Her father is also accused of killing the previous owner of the vineyard.
