A Hopeful Heart Review
A Hopeful Heart
Author: Kim Vogel Sawyer
Rating: 5
Synopsis:
Tressa, a girl from New York, finds herself on her way to Barnett, Kansas after her Aunt and Uncle decide they no longer want to be responsible for her. A woman by the name of Harriet Wyatt starts a school for women who want to learn the skills to be a ranchers wife. Tressa is required to learn things such as cooking, cleaning, milking and branding a cow. Abel Samm's is a farmer who has sworn off love due to a woman who broke her promises to him. Able runs a ranch with his three ranch hands but the problem is, he keeps losing his cattle. As Abel tries to catch the thieves he also tries to keep a pretty young lady "Tressa" from breaking down his walls.
WARNING:
Due to the time period in which this book is set there is nothing sexual to be aware of. There is a couple kisses but nothing inappropriate. As for violence Abel and Tressa both get shot at by the thieves and Abel gets wounded. All of the language is clean.
My Opinion:
I personally love books set in the old days because they make me take a step back in time. As I read the book, I found myself rooting for Able and Tressa to get together. But, as with any good story, there are moments of aggravation because neither see the love developing between them. The author did a great job of keeping me interested. The author is a Christian and shows great morals and lessons through the book. It's a cute love story and will teach young teen girls how a man should love his wife.
