Then Came You (A BRADFORD SISTERS NOVELLA) Review
Then Came You
Author: Becky Wade
Rating: 5
My Opinion
I was surprised when reading this novel for I did not realize until later that it connects with True to You and Falling For You. The cool thing about this book is that it follows Willow and Nora's father through his difficult yet inspiring life. Another interesting fact is that it is told through journal entries, phone conversations, and letters. I am impressed with the author's ability to develop the story without actual dialogue while still allowing the reader to get attached to the characters almost more than if it were told normally. One thing you will find out about the three Bradford sisters is that they each have a different mother. Sorry for the spoiler alert for those of you who do not know, but in order to understand Garner you need to understand his struggles. I find this book inspiring, even though Garner is fiction. I do not know if I will ever read it again, but it helps me to get insight into how the Bradford sisters end up the way they do.
Synopsis
Garner Bradford, is the heir to the Bradford shipping empire in Washington State. After some poor choices, he finds himself a single father of a baby he does not know how to care for. Kathleen Burke is a recent college graduate on the lookout for a job far away from home and her picky mother. Bradford Shipping is the last place she wants to be, but when her dream job does not pan out, she has to start somewhere. Through messages from her mother, Kathleen is warned about Garner, but it makes him all the more enticing.
WARNING
This book is mainly clean except for the fact that Garner has a baby out of wedlock and a woman is raped and killed. Becky does a great job in keeping this book PG but some of the trials Garner goes through, may not be great for younger readers.
