A Worthy Pursuit Review
A Worthy Pursuit
Author: Karen Witemeyer
Rating: 5
My Opinion:
A worthy pursuit is an amazing love story from the point of view of two unlikely soul mates. I enjoyed the twists and turns of this book and rolled with the punches. I read this book a while back and remembered a little bit in the beginning, but it was definitely worth reading again. The plot was cute and kept me entertained. I stayed up until two in the morning the first day reading it, and then most of the next day because I couldn't put the book down!
Synopsis:
Charlotte Atherton and Stone Hammond are as different as night and day. Stone's name fits his job as an ex-bounty hunter and now a successful retriever. Nothing would stop him from finishing this job or so he thought. Charlotte is accused of kidnapping three children from a private boarding school, or so Hammond was told. Each of the kids in Charlotte's care is unique in one way or another, but Lily especially. Lily can read a book one time and be able to recite it back word for word! Her grandfather would use this to his advantage all the while endangering his granddaughter. Lily’s mom’s dying wish was for Charlotte to take Lily as her child and raise her away from her grandfather; however, will Hammond believe Charlotte or will he believe the man who hired him?
WARNINGS:
This book can be intense at times, but it turns out to be a story of devotion and teamwork. There is also a little skit at the end showing the authors creativity in using her characters! Since Stone is an ex-bounty hunter, and now retriever, there are moments when he finds himself in a shootout, and injuries are inevitable. In the end, everyone escapes with their lives and is able to live normal lives.
